Impacto do sedimento sobre o desenvolvimento do perifíton no Rio Taquari, Pantanal, MS. Infoteca-e

Modelling mud transport in a macrotidal estuary ArchiMer
Le Hir, Pierre; Bassoullet, Philippe; L'Yavanc, Jacky.
In order to determine the fate of the fine particles and adsorbed contaminants in·a short macrotidal èstuary, a mathematical modelling system for cohesive suspended mater transport and bottom evolution, including a new consolidation algorithm, is developed. An analysis of successive erosion, transport and deposi~ion processes due to tidal forcing is given and comparisons with field data are provided. A description of mean-term bottom variations has been attempted and is partially validated by differential soundings.

Neogene evolution of the mixed carbonate-siliciclastic system in the Gulf of Papua, Papua New Guinea ArchiMer
Tcherepanov, Evgueni N.; Droxler, Andre W.; Lapointe, Philippe; Dickens, Gerald R.; Bentley, Sam J.; Beaufort, Luc; Peterson, Larry C.; Daniell, James; Opdyke, Bradley N..
This paper outlines the evolution of the late Cenozoic mixed carbonate-siliciclastic depositional system in the Gulf of Papua (GoP), using seismic, gravity, multibeam bathymetry, well data sets, and Landsat imagery. The deposition of the mixed sedimentary sequences was influenced by dynamic interplay of tectonics, eustasy, in situ carbonate production, and siliciclastic sediment supply. The roles of these major factors are estimated during different periods of the GoP margin evolution. The Cenozoic mixed system in the GoP formed in distinct phases. The first phase ( Late Cretaceous-Paleocene) was mostly driven by tectonics. Rifting created grabens and uplifted structural blocks which served later as pedestals for carbonate edifices. Active neritic...

Sediment morphology and distribution in a restored riparian forest Scientia Agricola
Momoli,Renata Santos; Cooper,Miguel; Castilho,Selene Cristina de Pierri.
Sediment distribution patterns of riparian zones reflect the deposition dynamics and the type of deposition event. The purpose of this study is to characterize the morphology and distribution of sediments deposited in a restored riparian forest that were transported from adjacent areas cropped with sugar-cane. In order to study the deposition processes in a riparian forest located in the county of Iracemápolis state of São Paulo, Brazil, soil samples were collected on a transect for micromorphological as well as particle size distribution analyses, using Folk & Ward statistical parameters. Soil samples were dispersed with NaOH + sodium hexametaphosphate and water. The dispersion in water was made to simulate field transport conditions. Particle...

Sowing performance by a metering mechanism of continuous flow in different slope conditions REA
CORREIA,TIAGO P. DA S.; SOUSA,SAULO F. G. DE; SILVA,PAULO R. A.; DIAS,PATRÍCIA P.; GOMES,ANDERSON R. A..
ABSTRACT One of the reasons for the success of a productive culture is the correct sowing. Therefore, the seeds must be properly dosed, deposited and not damaged by the metering mechanism of the seed drill. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate in a simulator the sorghum seed deposition by a metering mechanism with continuous flow in different conditions of slope and sowing speed, and evaluate the quality of the deposited seeds assessing mechanical damage and germination. The experiment was carried out at the College of Agricultural Sciences, UNESP in Botucatu-SP, being used a simulator equipped with seed metering mechanism of helical channelled rotor type. The experimental design was randomized in a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement with six replications....

Spatial distribution of pollen grains and spores in surface sediments of Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Anais da ABC (AABC)
Barreto,Cintia F.; Vilela,Claudia G.; Baptista-Neto,José A.; Barth,Ortrud M..
Aiming to investigate the deposition of pollen grains and spores in Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro State, 61 surface sediment samples were analyzed. The results showed that the current deposition of palynomorphs in surface sediments of Guanabara Bay represents the regional vegetation of this hydrographic basin. The differential distribution of palynomorphs followed a pattern influenced by bathymetry, tidal currents speed, discharge of numerous rivers, and by human activity. The dominance of representatives of Field Vegetation reflects the changes of the original flora caused by intense human activities in the region. The continued presence and richness of pollen types of rain forest in the samples indicates that their source area might be the vegetation...

SPRAYING QUALITY OF CROP PROTECTION PRODUCTS USING TWO DROPLET SPECTRA IN THREE PERIODS OF THE DAY REA
Graziano,Carlos E. P. L.; Alves,Karina A.; Gandolfo,Marco A.; Dario,Gustavo; Oliveira,Rone B..
ABSTRACT: Spraying of crop protection products can be affected by weather conditions and spray nozzles, altering deposition patterns and coverage of the target surface. The objective of this research was to analyze the quality of sprayings performed in three periods of the day (9:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm), using two different droplet sizes (fine and coarse) in soybeans. Coverage and deposition were evaluated in the upper, middle, and lower portion of soybean canopy. Spraying the products at 2:00 pm increased leaf coverage in the medium portion but also increased losses to the soil. Spray nozzles with fine droplet sizes provided greater coverage and deposition in the medium and upper portion of the crop for the sprayings performed in the morning. If...

The mixture volume sprayed by hydraulic and centrifugal energy nozzles for the control of Asian soybean rust Agronomy
Costa, Lilian Lúcia; Ferreira, Marcelo da Costa; Campos, Henrique Borges Neves; Carvalho, Giorge Gomes França de; Barbosa, José Carlos.
The objective of this work was to evaluate a means of controlling ASR (Phakopsora pachyrhizi H. Sydow & P. Sydow) by applying reduced fungicide volumes in association with spray nozzles using either hydraulic or centrifugal energy. Two experiments resulted from that objective: soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) Merril) of the ‘BRS Valiosa RR’ cultivar were grown at the Experimental Farm of the University of São Paulo State (Unesp) in Jaboticabal, Brazil. The treatments were distributed in the field according to a randomized complete block design with four replications. The treatments consisted of the volumes of 50, 100, and 150 L ha-1 (droplets resulting from hydraulic energy) and 17, 35, and 50 L ha-1 (droplets resulting from centrifugal energy). An...
